Day 26...Jenner to Petaluma KOA campground

Today I made a detour inland instead of riding directly to San Francisco. In Jenner I turned on the 116 passing Monte Rio and Guernville, beautiful cities along the Russian River. After leaving Guernville I rode to Santa Rosa with a very scenic landscape with a lot of viniculture. After visiting Santa Rosa I did a big mistake by riding on the Highway 101 south heading San Francisco. As it was legal to drive on the 101 in Washington and Oregon, it is not in California! So I was stopped after 10 miles by the Highway Patrol, did my passport thing, and was guarded with flashing lights to the next exit ;) At first the officer was not relaxed but this turned by pushing me during his microphone on the freeway :) After we left the Highway we had a nice conversation near the exit and I also did not get a fine :)
So I headed on smaller roads near the Highway to the KOA campground. Before I arrived at the campground one of my spokes broke on the front tyre, I decided to keep on driving until the next bakeshop. The campground cost 61$ just for building up my tent. Things become more and more expensive in the San Francisco area.

91,3 km / 289m altitude difference
