Today was a hard day. Not only because I had to manage a 2000 feet climb early in the morning but also because it was raining all the day. After turning on the Highway 1 managing the climb I reached again the coast line. On the way I saw again some sea lions on a rock near the coast. Again I met the couple from Idaho and we rode together the remaining way to Fort Bragg. When we reached Fort Bragg I had to buy a new rear tyre as it was completely used after approx. 1000 km. I decided to spend some money for a Specialized Armadillo tyre, which is heavy but durable. This should had been my decision before I started the tour as sporty tiers do not handle the heavy load on the back either in terms of waste or punctures. As we went again on the road the rainfall increased and we also faced headwind, so we decided to stay in a motel in Fort Bragg.
I stayed in the Surf Motel (59$ per night incl. breakfast).
77,8 km / 1084m in altitude difference
Follow me on my way down the Pacific Coast from Vancouver/Canada to Tijuana/Mexiko by my road bike. Starting point of the tour is the Stanley Park in Vancouver and will end at the Mexican border near Tijuana. Updates are given regular including the daily route, distance, stays, weather conditions and pictures. Due to the fact my stays include camping Wifi is not always available and updates are given belated. Feel free to add any comments and enjoy reading :)
