Day 20...Harris Beach State Park to Camper Corral in Klamath

Today was a fantastic day. Even if the day starts rainy I had a lot of outstanding impressions today. The tour started after a healthy breakfast at McDonalds in Brookings and after approx. 10km I passed the border to California, which was a nice feeling as I almost have the half of my tour done without bigger problems and a lot of nice experiences. After I passed the border I headed on to Crescent City, leaving the town I reached one of the biggest climbs of my tour, but the difficulty of the climb was disregarded as I entered the Del Norte Coast Redwoods State Parks. The trees are outstanding and fantastic! After I climbed the hill doped by impressions I had an amazing decent ride down the hill passing these big trees. The Redwoods will follow my way the next 300 miles and I am really looking forward to it.
After arriving in Klamath I met again the nice couple from Idaho and we decided to do a ride together  in 2 days which goes a little bit besides the regular tour but with more coast scenery instead of riding the Highway 101 inland.
When I arrived at The Camper Corral in Klamath I met the owner who is a very nice guy, gave me the tent place for half the price and after it started to rain he gave me the opportunity to build up my tent on the roofed veranda of his barn! :) Additionally he gave me for free a salmon prepared by himself by an old Indian receipt which tasted very good.
(15$ per night, no Hiker&Bike site available)

81,5 km / 705m altitude difference
