Day 8...Victoria to Olympic National Park

Today my tour started early in the morning to catch the ferry to Port Angeles/USA. This morning was the first day in Canada with sunshine and this should stay until arriving in Port Angeles. The ferry ride was amazing by relaxing in the sun. After arriving in Port Angeles I did my passport and customs thing without any problems and I started to head on the Highway 101 in western direction. I was entering the Olympic National Park, passed the Lake Crecent and orienting towards Forks. Unfortunately the weather changed and it was cloudy with heavy rain falls. Huge trucks loaded with trunks of trees were hammering continuously up and down the hills and made my life not easier ;). After heaving a hot chocolate at Granny's cafe I passed the beautiful Lake Crescent and headed on to Forks. The forest here is amazing including moss covered trees, by the way the forests in this area are called "rain forests" which could be an explanation for the bad weather.
Also I had my first puncture today :(

The rainfall becomes increasingly heavy so I stopped at the Hungry Bear Cafe. After having a nice conversation with the owners they told my they also own a motel, the Hungry Bear Motel, which I could not see because of the heavy rain even if it was directly near the road. So they gave me the off season price for a lodge and I stayed there the night (50$ per night).

70,4 km / 659 m in altitude difference
