Day 12...Raymond to Long Beach

Today my tour started in Raymond along the Highway 101 south to Long Beach (Location of the world's longest beach). In the morning it was cloudy and unfortunately it began to start raining heavy in the afternoon. This was also the first day I faced the infamous wind from south to north. The wind was so strong that I was struggling to keep myself balanced on the bike and it was really tough to make some distance. Additionally there was nothing in between of Raymond and Long Beach, not even a gas station or a cafe to warm myself up. So I was very happy when I arrived the first gas station in Long Beach after 75km to have a hot chocolate ;) Nothing special to say about the landscape besides some oyster and shellfish fisher boats and retailers. The weather forecast for the next two days looks similar so I prepare myself for two tough days, until Tuesday a temperature increase is forecasted paired with sun :). Tomorrow I will cross the border to Oregon by passing the Columbia River via the Astoria-Megler bridge.
I stay in the Seaview Motel (45$ per night) which is very nice and comfortable.

75,1 km / 358 m altitude difference
